Honda Moped Muffler Modification how to video is here! Our moped performance tuning enthusiasts asked for it and it has been cut/edited and uploaded to YouTube for the world to enjoy. This simple scooter video walks you through the process of modifying your stock 1978 nc50 moped exhaust to increase the performance. The desired results will vary on your modification technique and moped setup. The mod job was done on a stock honda express with no performance parts added. Was able to gain 5-10 mph due to this simple, FREE, and safe tuning technique.

Honda Moped KickStart Conversion | Express nc 50 1978 Scooter

Express moped kick start conversion is the way-to-go if your noped's starter spring is broken! You will not need any new parts, just a welding device to tack weld metal in place. Note: You will need to heat the starter spring up and rotate it 180 degrees. Then bend it out to make the kick start catch. Here are the steps (see diagram below for parts illustration):

1. [NOT NEEDED, BUT EASIER] - Remove ENGINE from FRAME
2. Remove the STARTER LEVER/PEDAL
3. Remove the transmission L-COVER (white cover)
4. Remove STARTER STOPPER
5. Remove DRIVE PLATE
6. You should leave the KICK RECOIL SPRING in the L-COVER
7. Remove STARTER DRIVE SPROCKET
8. Remove STARTER ARM & ARM SPRING
9. Tack weld (aka spot weld) the STARTER DRIVE SPROCKET in 3-4 places. This will involve tack welding the STARTER SPROCKET to the STARTER RATCHET (see diagram 1-A below).

10. Place the STARTER DRIVE SPROCKET you just tack welded back into place.
11. Wrap the STARTER CHAIN around the STARTER DRIVE SPROCKET and other DRIVE SPROCKET (attached to CRANKSHAFT)
12. Reverse STARTER LEVER/PEDAL and tack weld the PEDAL on STARTER LEVER
13. Replace L-COVER
14. Replace welded STARTER LEVER/PEDAL
