Hello,

Anybody use any of the engine parts for the Honda Hobbit from Treats for an Express? I have a 78 Express missing the head, jug, and cylinder and I am looking for some replacement parts.

thanks,

Andy

@AndrewM,

Yes and No. I have not used any stock Hobbit parts for the Express. BUT... there are lots of Treats parts that work for both the Express and Hobbit. Many of the parts need minimal "work" to make fit. For instance... if you need a cylinder and piston... just UPGRADE the '78 express engine by kitting it with a Honda DR Racing 70cc engine... OR... use a lower CC kit they have. I personally have had trouble finding a "hi comp" head for the Express. The Hobbit head doesn't really work for the Express... because it has a DECOMP hole that the Express doesn't need/have.

Hope that helps a little. Also, hope some others chime in.

Any suggestions for an alternative to the air cleaner on a '79 NC50? mine is missing pieces that are discontinued. If I got a K&N to fit would it still allow the oil mixture to be correct? that kind of thing.

@Ben,

I have heard a number of people run w/out the foam air filter. I don't see why you couldn't run a K&N. You might have to adjust your fuel/air filter screw on carb a little.

are these parts your are selling? namely air filters. i would rather throw you the business if you are in it...also, i have an issue with my 79 express. (starts fine, dies immediately. cleaned the carb checked all my tubes...i dunno). wondering where the best place to get your advice would be. thanks so much for your blog. awesome.

I read somewhere that the head from a Honda Spree bolts right up to the Express and will give you some additional compression. However, the DR kit suggests you not use a hi-comp head.

Dig your website! Lots of good info! Been looking for a place online to buy OEM parts for my new 82 NU50. Runs like a top, but needs a few cosmetic items like a front brake lever, brake pads front and back, new tires and tubes front and back also. Figured if anyone knew, it would probably be you! Thanks

Hi... I have a 1979 nc 50 express and I am starting to restore it.. There are two parts i am having a super hard tome finding. One is the air cleaner box that holds the air filter. The other is the plastic carb cover with the slots in it. I believe they are both white even through my bike is orange,. Could someone please tell me why these are so hard to find? Any places I should try? I saw a few on eBay but expensive,, please email me at shawninvancouvoer@gmail.com
